Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest release, Padmaavat, has set the box office ablaze. The period drama, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, has already raked in over Rs 500 crore worldwide. Even after almost a month since its release, Padmaavat is still going strong.
It was being said that the team of Padmaavat was planning to have a lavish party to celebrate the success of the film. The grand affair was supposed to be held on February 24, to coincide with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's birthday. However, if a report in Deccan Chronicle is to be believed, the celebration has now been called off. Reason? Sanjay Leela Bhansali is seasick. The party was to be held at Ark Deck Bar, a floating restaurant that is anchored in the Arabian Sea.
A source revealed, "The Viacom team had planned the party and even sent out invites to VIP guests. But then when he got to know about it, he regrettably opted out of the big plans pleading seasickness."Not too long ago, rumours were doing the rounds that the success party was in jeopardy, as Shahid Kapoor had refused to share the stage with Ranveer Singh.Buzz is that there is a simmering rivalry between the two actors, which intensified with Ranveer walking away with most of the praise for Padmaavat while Shahid's character did not get as much attention. At the time, Shobha Sant, the CEO of Bhansali Productions had refuted the rumours and called them nothing but "fiction".
